This policy applies to Echosense Technologies Private Limited (“Echosense,” “we,” “our” or “us”), its subsidiaries and affiliates only and not to any third party that we do not own, control or operate and this policy describes how we collect, use, share and secure data and device-related information collected through Echosense platform (the “Platform’’). It also describes choices regarding use, access and correction of data for Clients, App Partners as well as end-users.
We value the End User’s right to privacy and are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. Our objective is to ensure that we do not collect or receive End Users’ personal information in any manner. We protect the personal information of our Clients, associates and vendors as defined in this policy.
About Our Business
Echosense Technologies Private Limited, partners with mobile applications (App partners) and provides context and advertising SaaS to mobile applications, retail industry, media agencies, advertisers and companies in other relevant industries (collectively, “Clients”) to help them identify context and behaviour of their users or visitors in the physical world and enable real time and contextual communication to end users. We provide Contextual data to our clients, for advertising and analytics purposes.
Our Context and Marketing SaaS (the “Service”) may include, for instance, user context (based on location, movements and activities), measuring offline attribution, facilitating advertising (based on various data segments and device context), location based targeting, attribution and location & other analytics etc.
Data that we collect from End Users
Information relating to devices that we receive from App Partners through our Software Development Kit (“SDK”), which may include, depending on the chosen device permissions, the Android Advertising ID (AAID) on Android device, geolocation data, Wi-Fi connections, physical beacon data, accelerometer data, gyrometer data, Bluetooth data, and the name of the App Partner. We also collect device make, model, operating system, telecom carrier name and timezone to ensure better End User experience.
We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII), as defined by android, i.e., we do not collect any information that directly identifies individuals (such as names, addresses, phone numbers or email addresses, IMEI numbers, IP Addresses, mailing address etc) through our SDK, nor do we seek any user PII from our clients.
The data collected is entirely anonymous and we target advertising for the end user devices using Android Advertising Id (AAID) only. We collect and analyse data to ensure that the content received by the users, from our Clients’ mobile application(s), is highly relevant to the users and to further improve our targeting and analytical capability to provide more and more relevant communication to the end users.
How we collect End User data
We collect information about end users through our SDK installed on mobile applications of our App Partners to enable targeted advertising, including Contextual advertising, location-based proximity advertising and other related data services for our Clients.
Echosense has chosen to be an anonymized platform to keep user privacy at the highest pedestal of our business ethics and we are committed to the same in the spirit and through our actions. We collect device location, movement and behavioural data; however, the location and movement data isn’t shared with any third party and is used purely for targeting and analytics purposes without linking it with the identity of the user.
We recognize user context from locations and activity data and behavioural data about how the End Users interact with Apps that have partnered with us and content/communication of our Clients. We also capture data of notifications served, ads displayed to you and clicks for notifications and ads served to you only through our platform, however, we do not collect data of any notification, ads or clicks that are not served through our platform. We also collect End User’s engagement data with our Clients’ communication, content and ads to improve our Services and platform.
How we use information collected from End Users
We use the information collected from you to provide and improve our Services offered to our Clients, which may require us to analyse the collected information in various ways which may include the following
• Delivering relevant communication, content or Ads served to you;
• Creating user segments and profiles that may be based on behavioural data, geography and/or online actions etc
• Analysing the effectiveness of mobile communication and mobile advertising campaigns;
• Measuring footfall in retail stores and offline attribution for an ad campaign;
We do not share your location and/or movement data with our App Partners or any other Clients.
How long do we retain data collected from End Users?
We retain user data we process on behalf of our Clients and Partner Apps for as long as needed to provide services to our Clients and Partner Apps. We will also retain this information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
On your mobile devices, you have an option to reset the Advertising ID.
If you are using Android 4.4 or higher, you may go to “Settings” > “Accounts/Google” > “Ads” from where you may choose to Reset Advertising ID. You may also choose do-not-track option in your google settings to opt-out of our platform. We respect and honour user preferences and once a user has opted out, we do not collect any data from the user device, until they voluntarily reverse the action they used to opt-out of the platform.
We honour these “opt out” instructions or “flags” by not collecting any data from opted-out devices (identified by AAID used to opt-out), on a going forward basis, however, we may continue to use past information from these Devices for other purposes, such as market research and aggregated customer analytics, but we will not use this information for interest-based advertising purposes.
Data that we collect from Clients, Associates, Vendors
We receive requests for our services through our website from clients, associates, vendors and prospective partners. Such data is voluntarily provided by the entity making such requests and we do not use this data for targeting or analytics purposes for our platform
In order to create, administer your account and to provide any information you request, we collect information necessary that can be used to identify you, such as your name, email id, phone number, address. We may also collect additional information, containing PII or otherwise so as to serve your account better.

How we use the information collected from our Clients, Associates, Vendors
All the information provided for the above purpose(s) is used for the purpose of administering your account only. We do not share this information with any third party.
How long do we retain data collected from Clients, Associates, Vendors
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Information Shared with Third Parties
We may share aggregated information and anonymized data with third parties using AAID for the purpose of measurement, statistics, analytics, profiling, industry analysis, demographic profiling, market research and other similar purposes.
As a part of our business ethics, we are committed to protect the privacy of the End Users and our Clients at all times and that is why we do not collect any personal information of End users. However, as a responsible corporate we will cooperate with government and law enforcement agencies or officials and private parties, to comply with any law, regulation or legal process or to protect our property, rights and safety and safety of a third party or public in general, by providing information that is available with us.
We don’t collect any Personal Information for the End Users but we might have to share the personal information of our clients in response to a lawful request by public authorities whether in connection with matters that fall under the purview of legal matters, national security, law enforcement or any other lawful cause that is deemed valid by us. We will respond to lawful requests including but not limited to subpoenas, warrants and court orders.
As a first step towards the data security, we do not collect any PII for End Users. We take reasonable measures to protect the personal information, including PII collected for our Clients, associates and vendors from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Please be aware, however, that no method of transmitting information over the Internet or storing information is completely secure. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information.
